About me 🥰
Greetings, welcome to my page!
I am Kaichen Xu, currently a graduate student in Computer Science at Emory University. I am a research assistant in the Corces Lab at Emory University, working under the supervision of Dr. Xiaobo Sun and Dr. Victor Corces. My research focuses on developing machine learning methods for biological data, particularly in areas such as multimodal genomics and RNA regulation.
Before joining Emory, I completed my bachelor’s degree at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL), where I developed a strong interest in research while working under the mentorship of Dr. Xiaobo Sun. To further explore the intersection of algorithms and biological data, I joined The Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen) in the summer of 2025 as a research assistant under the guidance of Dr. Jin Liu. During this period, I conducted research on computational methods for biological data analysis, which broadened my research perspective and strengthened my interest in computational biology.

Research Interests 🕶️
Building on these experiences and years of exploration, my research interests include, but are not limited to, generative models, computational biology, and the theory of deep learning. Together with my collaborators, I have developed a number of algorithms and tools based on generative models for applications such as disease discovery, batch effect correction, and data retrieval. Beyond AI–biology scenarios, I am also working on generalizing these methods to broader domains, making sustained contributions to the computer science community through both theoretical analysis and empirical validation. For more details, please see my Publications pages.
In addition, I am currently applying to Ph.D. programs in Computer Science, Data Science, or Biostatistics. More details about my background can be found in my CV. If you are interested in my research experience and would like to explore potential collaboration, please feel free to reach out to me at kaichenxu358@gmail.com—I would be delighted to connect and discuss further.
